Joseph P. Griffith, Sr.
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Joe Griffith incorporated the Company in 1957 under his name and serves as its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. After a stellar career in the military and banking industry, Joe returned to his native Charleston to pursue a lifelong dream in the real estate business.
Under his direction, the Company rapidly grew into the one of the largest residential real estate companies in the Charleston area. As the Company continued to grow, Joe diversified the corporate strategy to include commercial real estate and development. Joe has extensive experience in the real estate industry and has been instrumental in the
creation of a diverse real estate portfolio through development and investment opportunities.
In addition to his real estate interests, Joe has also been involved in numerous successful business ventures including the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition (Chairman & Founding Partner), First Trident Saving and Loan (Chairman and Founding Partner), Pre-Stress Concrete Company (Chairman)……
Throughout his career, Joe has been committed to giving back to the Charleston community. He has volunteered his services for numerous civic activities including the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce (President), Charleston Symphony Orchestra (Board Member),
Joe is also dedicated to his Catholic faith and has served his church in many capacities including Pope Paul Papal (organizer and fundraiser), advisor to Bishops Untkerfler, Thompson and Robert. The Catholic Church has recognized Joe for his commitment and service to the church and has bestowed him as a Knight of Malta and a Knight of Saint Gregory by Pope Paul, VII.
Joe is a graduate of Saint Bernard's College in Cullman, Alabama. He and his wife Bette recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Joe and Bette have five children and 15 grandchildren.
Louis E. Griffith 
President and Broker-in-Charge
Louis Griffith is the President and Broker-in-Charge of the Company. He began his professional career in the banking industry having been promoted to the position of loan officer with a national banking institution. Upon his return to Charleston, Louis joined the Company as a Professional Sales Associate in 1985.
During his career, Louis has been involved in all aspects of commercial real estate including general brokerage, leasing, site selection and client representation. Through his experience, Louis has provided in-depth knowledge of market conditions and property analysis allowing his clients to achieve their desired goals.
In addition, Louis has also performed commercial and residential development services on behalf of the Company, clients and for his personal portfolio. Louis serves as president of Griffith Development Co., LLC and is a partner in Griffith Investments, LLC.
Professional organizations include the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute (CIREM), Charleston Trident Association of REALTORS, South Carolina Association of REALTORS and National Association of REALTORS. Louis is also a candidate for the prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM).
Louis graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Real Estate. He is married with three children and resides in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina
Stephen A. Griffith 
Vice President
Stephen Griffith serves as Vice President/Treasurer of Joe Griffith, Inc. He began his real estate career in 1984 as a Professional Sales Associate and was quickly promoted to Sales Manager of the Residential Division.
Between 1996-2000, Stephen worked for two of the leading masonry product manufacturers in the southeastern United States, Richtex Brick and Metromont Materials.
Rejoining the Company in 2000 as Vice President/Treasurer, Stephen supervises office management and accounting for the Company. In addition, Stephen participates in the sales, leasing and development of commercial and residential properties.
Stephen is a member of various civic and professional organizations including the Charleston Trident Association of REALTORS (CTAR), CTAR Grievance Committee, South Carolina Association of REALTORS, National Association of REALTORS, International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) American Heart Association, Komen Race For the Cure, Charleston Trident Homebuilders Association (CTHBA) and the Exchange Club of Charleston.
Stephen graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1984. He is married with three children and resides in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.
